The Irony of the NPC Meme (self.whatever)

The most predictable character in a game is the player. The whole point of NPCs is you don't know what adventure they are going to take you on. But devs were able to know exactly where you would end up before they even shipped the game to you months in advance and were able to provide you with ample content around where you would end up.
Even in real life you are probably as predictable as an NPC if not more so. You want to be successful. You want happiness. You want immediate gratification. And that's not even something to be embarrassed about. Sure life will throw you some curve balls that will make your life different from all others but its not like you planned the majority of those things or that those are intrinsically positive things. There is absolutely nothing in your will towards being unique and if there is it is likely because you lack confidence and you seek uniqueness as an ego crutch.
So be unoriginal. There is no embarrassment in it. Who is anyone to tell you that you shouldn't want to be successful, as unoriginal as that is? Go and take control over the things you care about in your life, even though that is a pretty universal thing to try to do.
That or be a loser with face tats.
